In 2004, I ran across a gorgeous beautiful specimen of a woman whose dark skin glowed like the sun. This spoken word poem was inspired by my wife and how pulchritudinous she was. Blending the written style of spoken word with the rap cadence, I call it Neo-Flo. Written by myself, Kenneth Garner aka Kaijee, co-written by Eric L. Vicks, and music prompt engineer Anthony M. Gooding (using Suno), we birthed a cultural anthem not only about a woman but about a people. Our melanin skin makes us who we are, how resilient and artistic, intelligent, and strong we are. We are “Beautiful Skin”.
